New plasterboard ceilings and internal walls were painted with our made-for-spray product, Dulux Professional® FASTFINISH™ Undercoat and Ceiling Flat. Spraying reduces the time required to apply and labour costs while producing a premium finish.

A Dulux system of Acratex Green Render Sealer and Acratex AcraShield Advance Matt was applied to protect the concrete walls from pollution and grime. The two-coat application of AcraShield Advance topcoat provides a barrier against dirt resistance to reduce dirt accumulation and improve surface washability.

AcraShield is a high build, elastomeric performance membrane. Weather resistant, it accommodates masonry crack movement of up to 0.9mm (6 x Dry Film Thickness) and provides a 15-year warranty.

The building’s soffits were coated in Dulux Acratex AcraSkin to create a stipple pattern. AcraSkin is a high-performance elastomeric membrane that delivers weatherproofing and is optimised for crack bridging protection. It accommodates masonry crack movement of up to 2.7mm (9 x dry film thickness), ensuring long-term exterior durability.

AcraSkin provides a finish with excellent water resistance and barrier properties against moisture ingress, carbonation and surface cracking, while significantly improving the building's aesthetics.

Dulux Acratex provided full performance systems for all Lidcombe Rise’s terraces and walkways, providing an attractive, durable finish for these stunning common areas. Superior protection for concrete walls was achieved with AcraShield Advance. This flexible finishing coat delivers a paint-like appearance, maintains barrier protection and reduces dirt accumulation.

“Dulux Acratex products were extensively applied to literally kilometres of walkways as well as on the large number of planter boxes across the development’s numerous gardens and rooftop terraces,” Chris said. “We appreciated that the colour of the render and paint was consistent. The Dulux Acratex application process was also very efficient.”

The construction coincided with the COVID pandemic, which created unexpected and unavoidable project delays. To keep the project on track, timely product supply and efficient application were crucial. Dulux supplied all products to agreed deadlines, enabling the application of paints and coatings to proceed according to schedule.
