Dulux PRECISION® All Metal Primer has excellent adhesion and is formulated with anti-corrosive pigments to inhibit rust and corrosion for the protection of metal surfaces such as galvanised iron, ZINCALUME®, wrought iron, steel, aluminium, copper, brass and stainless steel.

New galvanised iron:
Wash down surface with Selleys® Sugar Soap and a Scotch-Brite® Pad to remove grease, oils and dirt.
Rinse with clean water.
Allow to dry.
Aged or rusted galvanised iron: Remove all rust by scraping, sanding or wire brushing.
Wipe surface clean with mineral turpentine to remove residual rust, grease, oils and dirt.
Allow to dry.
ZINCALUME®, aluminium, copper, brass and stainless steel:
Wash down surface with Selleys® Sugar Soap and a Scotch-Brite® Pad to remove grease, oils, dirt and any corrosion.
Rinse with clean water.
Allow to dry.
Aged Colorbond®, pre-painted steel:
Ensure surface is sound by performing an adhesion test.
Any loose or flaking paint needs to be removed.
Spot prime bare areas with one coat of Dulux PRECISION® All Metal Primer.
Ferrous metals (steel and wrought iron), new Colorbond®:
Ensure surface is free from residual grease, oils and dirt by wiping with mineral turpentine
Stir well before and during use.
For best results, apply the primer immediately after the surface preparation is complete.
For use on galvanised iron, ZINCALUME®, aluminium, copper, brass and stainless steel:
Apply one coat of Dulux PRECISION® All Metal Primer by brush, roller or spray.
Ferrous metals (steel and wrought iron):
Apply two coats of Dulux PRECISION® all metal primer by brush, roller or spray.
Thinning:
Thin if necessary with up to 50ml of water per litre.
Thinning can reduce the rust inhibiting performance of Dulux PRECISION® All Metal Primer.
Do not pour leftover paint down the drain.
Unwanted paint should be brushed out on newspaper and allowed to dry, and then disposed of via domestic waste collections.

Leave empty paint containers open in a well-ventilated area to dry out. When dry, recycle the container via steel can recycling programs.
Disposal of empty paint containers via domestic recycling programs may differ between local authorities. Check with your local council first.
Do not reuse container unless thoroughly decontaminated.
