United front

Three Birds Renovations’ Creative Director Bonnie Hindmarsh's brother Casey Scott and his company Kinwolf took on a brief to increase the size of this cottage including fitting a new designer kitchen, a cleverly concealed combined laundry and powder room on the existing ground floor.

Sky's the limit

To increase the size of the interior, Scott and those at Kinwolf opened up the top of the cottage to add another bedroom as well as two bathrooms. In addition, they added a fabulous alfresco entertainment space, ready for a new family to enjoy.

White wonder

The walls and ceiling were painted in the same perfect ivory colour, Whisper White, in Dulux Wash&Wear® made the space feel larger.

Curb appeal

The beautiful earthy colour, Magnitude, was chosen to accentuate the trims, arch windows and doors in Dulux Aquanamel® to keep within the heritage character of the cottage.

Modern classic

The mix of urban concrete flooring, warm timber accents and cabinetry and paint in soft colours honours the Balmain cottage’s heritage while introducing a contemporary flavour.
