Step-by-step guide
Clean
Windows collect dust and cobwebs, so be sure to give yours a good clean with Selleys Original Sugar Soap before painting. Read the instructions to get your windows in the right condition to paint.
Mask off
Mask around your window frame and glass with tape to prevent accidental splatters interfering with your walls or view.
Load your brush
Dip your brush half way into the paint and tap it against the side of the pot to remove any excess.
Start from the inside
Working quickly, paint next to the glass around the sills first using long brush strokes. Avoid dabbing the paint. Work around the window frame progressively outwards until you finish with the edge against the wall.
Lay off
Using an unloaded roller begin in the top left corner of your wall and gently let the roller roll down to the baseboards in a straight line with no pressure. A lightness of touch will prevent new roller marks from forming. Repeat this action, only this time slightly overlap your last movement so your roller rubs away the line created by the previous stroke. Continue this across the area you have painted. This is called laying off.
