Create the look: Kinship

"I was immediately drawn to Kinship’s palette of deep red, brown and caramel tones. Together with cosy, neutral shades they create a warm, cocoon-like atmosphere perfect for a living room.

For the walls I used Dulux Reddy Brown alongside Hildegard. My hero pieces, a Fritz Hansen Lune Sofa, pendant light, layered rugs and wall art, are inspired by Dulux Very Terracotta, Raccoon Tail and Red Ochre.

I chose Dulux Beige Artefacts as a neutral accent to carry through to other furniture selections. Embracing expressive folkloric elements I have chosen beautiful wood, woven and ceramic pieces to add texture and interest to the room."

Michelle's Tips

  • The rich, earthy hues of the Kinship palette go hand in hand with texture. For furniture and soft furnishings, choose tactile finishes like velvet and wool.

  • Offset rich colours with a complimentary neutral to create warmth and cosiness.

  • Bring a fun, folkloric style to your space with patterns, embroidery, fringing and tassels.
