Dulux, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Australia, provided paint for the transformation of a nine-bedroom shelter operated by the Aboriginal Women and Children’s Crisis Service in Sydney.
Dulux was proud to support the crisis service through our partner, Habitat for Humanity and the Brush with Kindness Program.
Along with Dulux paint donations, the Brush with Kindness program allows volunteers to conduct renovations, landscaping, gardening, and minor repairs to the homes of people who may be disadvantaged, disabled, socially isolated or escaping domestic violence.
This refresh was part of NAIDOC week activities where volunteers lent a helping hand with the maintenance and repairs of a shelter for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children fleeing domestic violence.
Fresh paint is more than just a cosmetic update; it plays a key role in transforming a property into a comfortable and liveable space.
Habitat for Humanity says without support from organisations such as Dulux, these vital shelters might remain empty and unused until the necessary repairs are made.
Volunteers transformed the stark yellow interior into a calming and inviting family space. Selected from Dulux's most loved whites and neutrals, the colour scheme of the warm Antique White U.S.A.® and neutral Hog Bristle® have created a relaxing house.
Thanks to the Habitat volunteers who repainted this home with Dulux paint, the property is now a welcoming and safe place for those in need and a positive environment where women and children can find the help and safety they urgently need.
We’re here to help make the world a brighter, fresher, more colourful place through paint donations, one where new stories and fresh memories can be made.
We have joined with our partners in sharing a strong commitment to grassroots support and community initiatives.
