If your walls are already painted with water-based paint and in good condition (with no peeling or flaking), you only need to lightly sand and clean them with sugar soap and water before applying Dulux Wash&Wear®. There's no need for a primer.
To test if your walls are painted with water-based or oil-based paint, put some mehylated spirits on a clean rag and rub a small spot on the paint surface. If the paint comes off, it is water-based. If the paint stays on and you get a shiny surface, the paint is oil-based.
For all other walls, it's best to use Precision primers before painting.

As a general guide, 1L of Dulux Wall, Dulux Trim or Dulux Ceiling paint covers approximately 16m squared. However, when buying paint, make sure you check the spread rate of the product, which you can find on the back of the paint can or with the help of this paint calculator.
You should apply at least two coats of paint to achieve a good finish, but this depends on the colour and surface.
For dark colours, we always recommend a minimum of 2 coats. You may require more than 2 coats to get the chosen colour.
For whites, 2 coats. However, you may want 3 coats for a bright finish.

Make sure to let the paint dry naturally, without heating, to avoid paint problems.
We recommend using a roller with a 6 to 8 mm nap for gloss and semi-gloss paints.
For low sheen and flat paints on walls, use a 10 to 12 mm nap.
For rough surfaces such as concrete or textured walls, use a 20 to 32 mm nap roller.
There is no strict timeframe, as it depends on how and where the paint is stored.
We recommend transferring any unused paint into a smaller can, as the more air inside, the faster it will expire.
It is also important to keep the paint cans off the ground on a shelf.
Following this advice, your paint should last 2 to 5 years.
